Jeevan Kaushalya
Practical Skills for
Everyday Life and the Choices Ahead
Knowing how to manage money, communicate clearly, solve a problem or think about what comes after school can make a big difference to a young person’s confidence.
Sneh Asha’s Jeevan Kaushalya programme brings practical learning into Ashram Shalas in Palghar. Designed for students in Grades 5–10, the programme combines financial literacy, functional English, life skills and career guidance with age-appropriate classroom activities.
Younger students build familiarity and confidence, while older students begin applying these skills to real-life situations and future education choices.

Four Areas of Learning
Four areas of
practical learning
Financial Literacy
Understanding Money in Everyday Life — Students learn practical money concepts such as needs, spending, saving and making safe financial choices in ways they can relate to as they grow.
Functional English
Building Confidence to Communicate — Lessons focus on useful reading, speaking and comprehension, helping students express themselves more confidently in familiar everyday situations.
Life Skills
Learning to Think, Decide and Work Together — Activities encourage self-expression, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making, helping students approach everyday situations with greater confidence.
Career Guidance
Starting to Think About What Comes Next — Older students explore education streams, possible pathways after school and the steps they may need to take next. Guided conversations help them ask the right questions and make more informed choices.
Learning That Grows With the Student
Learning That

the Student
For students in Grades 5–8, the focus is on foundational exposure, participation and confidence.
For Grades 9–10, the programme places greater emphasis on applying skills, exploring future pathways and preparing for important education transitions.

Learning in
Palghar’s Ashram Shalas
The programme is designed around the school environment and local context of Palghar’s Ashram Shalas.
Teaching is planned to fit each school’s timetable, grade groups and student needs, so practical skills become part of regular learning rather than a one-time activity.
Understanding Progress
Learning outcomes
will follow
the evidence.
Participation records help follow programme delivery. A grade-appropriate assessment framework is needed to report changes in financial literacy, English and life skills.
Learning outcomes will be shared once that framework and its reporting period are confirmed.
